Morioka City Archaeological Museum Theme Exhibition: "Adornments – From Jomon Period Amulets to Modern Self-Expression"
Let's explore the meaning behind accessories and the feelings people have about them.
The ornaments (accessories) that people have worn since the Jomon period have changed over time in terms of materials and the meanings they embody.
This exhibition introduces the wishes and social backgrounds of people that can be inferred from personal ornaments unearthed from archaeological sites in the city.
In addition, the lecture will discuss the cultures of people as seen through their personal accessories.
