"Creating Urushi Tree Seedlings" Experience Event Starting from Seeding

Lacquer is the material used to make products known worldwide as "Japan." Efforts to increase domestic lacquer production are now underway across the country. Why not start cultivating urushi trees by sowing seeds? This is a three-day hands-on event, with seeds sowing on the day of the vernal equinox.

We will provide all the necessary materials, including approximately 200 10g sumac seeds. Please come empty-handed.

Day 1 (3/7) Seed germination promotion treatment

Day 2 (March 20th, Vernal Equinox) Seed sowing

Day 3 (around May 20th): Transplant the germinated seedlings into the pods.

Date and time: Day 1: Saturday, March 7, 2026, 10:00 AM

Day 2: Wednesday, March 20, 2026, 10:00 AM

Day 3: Around May 20, 2026 (date and time to be determined) 10:00 AM

Location: Kamiyonai Station on the JR Yamada Line (Experience time: 60-90 minutes each day)

Enrollment: Limited to 10 groups per day (if there are many applicants, the number of sessions will be increased on the day)

Experience content: You will actually try out the contents of the Urushi seedling cultivation manual (simple cultivation version).

Experience fee: Total 4,400 yen (tax included)

3rd day: 2,200 yen. You can pay in full on the first day on-site, or pay for each session on each day. Cash and cashless payments accepted.
