Sato Woodworking Studio
Sato Utsukasa (living in Isawa Wakayagi, Oshu City)
Born in Tomakomai, Hokkaido in 1985
1985: Started working as an automobile mechanic at a private factory
1991: Changed jobs to work at a car dealership as a mechanic
1998: Became a construction carpenter
2001 Founded the Sato Woodworking Studio
2015: Moved to Isawa Wakayagi in Oshu City
While I was working as a construction carpenter, I came up with the idea for a wooden doll wearing a tricorn hat called "Pito-kun" and wanted to create something original, which is how I got my current job.
At first I was making ornaments of "Pito-kun," but then I started making moving objects and mechanisms, which led to my current style.
Obras
Michiko Oikawa (resident of Mizusawa, Oshu City)
2003: Obtained Shadowbox Association "BASIC" certification
2007: Started home school
2011: Obtained Shadowbox Association "MASTER" certification
He happened to come across a shadow box and started making one out of curiosity, but then he became fascinated with the appeal of turning a flat picture into a three-dimensional object and started making them in earnest.
After joining the Shadowbox Association and obtaining qualifications, I started a class at my home. I work hard to promote and develop shadowboxing through solo exhibitions, exhibitions and sales, seminars, and other events, including an exhibition held every two years in Oshu City (Oshu City Cultural Center Z Hall) with my students.
