Miyako style nol, that's it.
My name is Nobuyuki Hasegawa, a dancer and Japanese drummer.
I have been given the opportunity to stay in Miyako City as a resident artist for 2024.
Miyako has both the sea and the mountains, each of which has its own richness.
However, I realized that there are some things, like the sea and the mountains, that are in the same Miyako, but somehow seem far away.
I imagined the wind that connects all of these things while sitting in an open-air bath by the sea, watching the seagulls fly overhead.
The results of the stay will be announced on March 16th.
The title is "That which flows in the Miyako wind."
Miyako-style is a word I made up. Sorry.
The theme is "If we were to create something similar to 'modern folk performing arts' (tentative)".
We will create a miniature Miyako inside the cultural center and perform there using dance, Japanese drums, and a little bit of technology.
That's the plan.
Is it the body, the sound, the rumors, the heart, me, or you that is carried there?
Get on board, carry on, grow, proclaim, ride.
Aren't you going?
I would like to do this as close to you as possible.
Like a festival, like a view.
And to everyone in Miyako (and outside Miyako), this will surely be an indispensable time for you all.
I'm sure you'll be surprised at how cold it is in Miyako in March, but I'll be waiting for you.
