Miyako Citizens' Theatre 4th Performance
That first step opens up a dream.
Take the step and believe in yourself.
The current National Route 106 connects Miyako and Morioka. Nowadays, it is easy to travel between them, but originally there were no roads connecting the mountain villages, and they were isolated islands on land.
"Bring things from the sea inland, and things from inland to the coast." The road opened up by a single monk who stood up to enrich people's lives was called the Hei Kaido, and we still live thanks to its benefits to this day.
The time was the Horeki era, nearly 300 years ago.
Heartbroken by the poverty and suffering of the people, Monk Whip-Gyu sets out to find a ray of light.
The villagers could not hide their distrust at this seemingly reckless behavior.
And there they were…
Will this path bring light to people's future?
His suffering will become the salvation of the world.
You will surely be moved by his attitude of demonstrating the teachings of Buddha through his own example.
Have you given up on your dreams?
Take the step and believe in yourself.
