2020 Theme Exhibition "Toyosawa Yaegashi – Life as a painter"
Yaegashi Toyosawa, one of Hanamaki's three painters, was active as an artist in Hanamaki in the late Edo period for about 40 years, leaving behind many works, including landscape paintings, portraits, and flower and bird paintings.
This exhibition introduces some of Toyosawa's works from the collection of the museum, and explores their power of expression and appeal.
