Morioka Predecessors Memorial Hall 16th Morioka Furumachi Famous Exhibition “Konyamachi Kaiwai Part 2”
"Morioka Furumachi Name Exhibition" is an exhibition that introduces the history of the town by focusing on the old place names (old town names) of Morioka.
After completing the 15th “Sannohe Town Kaiwai” held last year, this exhibition will once again take up Konyamachi Kaiwai, which was introduced in the first installment.
Konyamachi Kaiwai is an area that developed along the Oshu Highway from Nakanohashi to Uenohashi. Konyamachi is a town of konya (dyeing shops) craftsmen who used the clear stream of the Nakatsu River, and many merchants, including Omi merchants, lived in the town during the Edo period. We will introduce the history of this area and the predecessors related to it through materials.
